We’ve rolled out three big updates this month — all focused on making compensation data for physicians & APPs more complete, more transparent, and easier to manage.
💼 Bringing Transparency to Locums Pay
Locums work can offer amazing flexibility and great pay, but it's hard to know if you're getting the best rate. That’s why we overhauled our locums survey to better capture all the details you need to negotiate your next locums contract:
- Hourly base rate
- Overtime, call, night, and weekend rate differentials
- Call stipend
- Guaranteed hours per shift
- Agency and hospital name
If you’ve worked a locums job in the last 12 months, give it a try and share your latest contract info - it only takes a minute and you can share as many as you’d like to help your fellow locums peers:

Big thank you to Affan Ahmad, MD for playing a critical role in helping to shape our locums salary survey!

📊 All the Benchmarks, All in One Place
We were curious to see how Marit’s community-powered salary data compares to the leading industry benchmarks, so we rounded up the numbers from Doximity, Medscape, MGMA, and all the professional associations and put them side-by-side with real-time salary data from Marit.
It’s never been easier to compare compensation benchmarks across different sources:
✍️ Add and Edit Your Own Salaries
This one’s been a long time coming. Until now, there was no way to update or add your salary after submitting, which meant you had to reach out to us via email if you made a mistake or something about your salary changed.
Starting today, you can head to your profile on Marit to:
- Edit any salary - If you accidentally type in 30 weeks of PTO instead of 30 days, you can now easily fix any errors or update your salary details anytime.
- Add more salaries - Have a locums or PRN gig on top of your full-time job? Share up to 3 additional salaries with the community.
We’ll be back next month with more updates from the Marit team, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you have feedback or ideas for what you'd like to see next, we'd love to hear from you!
