Why is Marit Making MGMA Free?

When I started Marit, I had a simple belief: every clinician deserves free and transparent access to salary data.

After talking with hundreds of clinicians, one theme kept coming up: "Your compensation is based on the 50th percentile of MGMA." Marit already delivers what MGMA cannot, a real-time, clinician-driven view of the market. But MGMA is still the language many employers speak.

So we did the work to close that gap. We are licensing MGMA data — and giving it away for free to every clinician who shares their anonymous salary. If you share your salary anonymously, you'll unlock both Marit's community dataset and MGMA benchmarks — all at no cost.

Clinicians deserve fair pay. Bringing Marit + MGMA together moves us one step closer.

FAQs

Yes - it’s completely free! When you share your salary anonymously, you’ll unlock both MGMA data and Marit’s community dataset. We use a “give-to-get” model so the data can remain accessible to every verified clinician.
MGMA remains the most widely used benchmark for employers when setting compensation. Having access to that same data helps you understand where their numbers are coming from and negotiate with confidence.
MGMA reports averages by specialty and region, but it doesn’t capture the real-world details that drive compensation. Marit fills those gaps with 17K+ current, clinician-reported salaries – each with full context on schedule, call, benefits, and more – so you can see what pay actually looks like in practice.
MGMA requires NPI verification to ensure their licensed data is shared only with verified clinicians. Marit uses NPI to help protect data integrity and maintain a trusted, clinician-only community.
You can still get free access! Since you don’t yet have a salary to share with the community, you can refer a friend to Marit. Once they sign up, both of you will unlock access to MGMA + Marit for free.
Unfortunately, MGMA access is limited to verified clinicians with an active NPI number. We encourage you to join Marit to explore our community dataset. To see all salary details, just refer a friend. Once they sign up, both of you will unlock access to Marit for free.
No problem. You can still purchase an MGMA report for $149. Sharing your salary anonymously is what makes the data free – but you’re always in control of how you participate.
