The Nurse Practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary medical team to provide high-quality, direct clinical care for adults with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. The role involves performing evaluations, managing detox and medication-assisted treatment, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations, history and physicals, detox management, and medication-assisted treatment according to standard operating procedures
• Complete history and physicals within 24 hours of admission and psychiatric evaluations within 48 hours
• Order labs and appropriate testing, prescribe medications and treatments
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
• Consult with physicians and clinicians regarding patient needs and refer to specialists as necessary
• Accurately document all patient encounters and test results in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Attend monthly medical staff meetings and participate in clinical/medical committees
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with the local medical community and within the organization

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current, unrestricted DEA Certification
• Current BLS Certification (ACLS preferred)
• Ability to perform evaluations, order tests, and prescribe treatments in accordance with legal and professional standards
• Excellent communication skills, bedside manner, and time management
• Effective teamwork and professional interaction with diverse populations
• Computer literacy and proficiency with EMR systems
• Willingness to work evening hours and weekends if necessary
• Ability to travel between multiple facilities if applicable
• Compliance with all applicable laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR
