Tarleton State University’s College of Health Sciences seeks qualified applicants for part-time Adjunct Instructor positions in the Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Medicine program. These roles involve teaching, curriculum development, student assessment, and academic support, primarily for the 2025/2026 academic year at the Stephenville campus. The program is pending approval with a planned launch in Spring 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in the Physician Assistant Medicine program.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, and papers.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes to inform teaching practices.
• Engage students through active learning, foster critical thinking, and facilitate discussion and collaboration.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship, and support to students via office hours and feedback on assignments.
• Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement.
• Participate in faculty development and collaborative academic activities as needed.

Compensation

• Compensation is commensurate with experience.
• Payment model is other; employment is on a W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

• Positions are temporary, part-time appointments for the 2025-2026 academic year.
• Teaching responsibilities may include delivering at least 50% of course content in person, online, or as needed.
• Availability for in-person or virtual engagement with students and faculty is required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification or an earned professional/practice doctoral degree (e.g., M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., DMSc) or research doctorate (e.g., Ph.D. in physiology).
• Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience in an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and collegially with students, staff, and faculty.
• Willingness to work in a collaborative, supportive academic environment.
• Experience or interest in innovative teaching methods and pedagogical approaches.
• Ability to adapt to teaching in person, online, or hybrid formats.
• Availability to support students and participate in program activities during the academic year.
