OBGYN Physician Assistant

Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant with experience or strong interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology to join our OB/GYN team. The role involves working independently alongside physicians in an inpatient setting, primarily on the Labor and Delivery/Maternity unit, with responsibilities including inpatient care, triage, ER consults, and assisting in OR cases. The position offers night shifts, teaching opportunities, and involvement in quality improvement initiatives within a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Labor & Delivery unit, Maternity, and L&D Triage.
• Perform inpatient rounding for gynecology patients.
• Conduct ER consultations related to obstetrics and gynecology.
• Assist in operating room cases as a first assist.
• Work independently in collaboration with MDs, primarily during night shifts.
• Participate in teaching and quality improvement initiatives.
• Utilize the Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management.
• Serve an underserved, multicultural patient population with excellent clinical skills.

Shift & Schedule

• 24 hours per week, consisting of two 12-hour night shifts.
• Variable schedule with night shift timing.
• No call required, including weekends.

Requirements

• Physician Assistant certification with current licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of OB/GYN experience or strong interest in Women’s Health.
• Experience working in inpatient obstetrics and gynecology settings preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong clinical skills and commitment to serving underserved populations.
• Interest in teaching and quality improvement activities.
• Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
