The University of New Mexico is seeking experienced Anesthesiologist Assistants to join our team at the only Level I Trauma Center in the state. The role involves providing anesthesia services across a variety of surgical and procedural settings, including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, oncologic, urologic, vascular, plastic, robotic, trauma, and outpatient surgeries. Opportunities also exist to work in pediatric anesthesia at the state's only Children's Miracle Network hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care for a diverse range of surgical and procedural cases.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in preoperative assessments and postoperative care as needed.
  • Work within a team-based anesthesia model in a hospital setting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and standards of care.
  • Optional participation in additional shifts for extra compensation.
  • Support pediatric anesthesia services at the Children's Miracle Network hospital.

Compensation

  • Salary range of $210,000 to $230,000, with additional call compensation available.
  • Tiered compensation model increasing with years of experience.
  • Sign-on bonus of $10,000.
  • Relocation assistance provided.
  • Additional income opportunities through optional extra shifts and incentives.
  • Total compensation includes incentives such as sign-on bonus, relocation support, and CME allowance.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
  • Current certification or licensure as an Anesthesiologist Assistant.
  • Previous experience in a hospital anesthesia setting preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Ability to adapt to a tiered compensation structure based on experience.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training.
