This full-time Physician Assistant role involves providing comprehensive rheumatology care under the supervision of a licensed Rheumatologist. The position includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal conditions, with an emphasis on chronic disease management, infusion oversight, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient visits, review medical histories, perform physical exams, and develop treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, imaging, and autoimmune panels.
• Prescribe, initiate, and monitor DMARDs, biologics, and infusion therapies in accordance with regulations.
• Perform joint and soft tissue injections, aspirations, and other minor procedures as credentialed.
• Manage acute flares or urgent complications of autoimmune and rheumatologic diseases, initiating stabilization and referrals as needed.
• Provide oversight and support for infusion therapy and coordinate with specialty pharmacy.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, medications, infusion safety, and lifestyle modifications.
• Supervise, teach, and mentor medical students, residents, and clinical staff; provide ongoing staff education.

Compensation

• Salary paid via W-2 model.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program and passed the PA National Certifying Exam.
• Licensed/Registered as an Advanced Practice Provider with current Idaho license.
• Current BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Knowledge of autoimmune diseases, rheumatology medications, and infusion protocols.
• Ability to manage complex chronic conditions and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Physical ability to perform clinical duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
