The position is for a full-time Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Anesthesiology Assistant (AA) within the Moffitt Anesthesiology Department. The role involves providing anesthesia care to cancer patients under supervision, including preoperative evaluation, anesthesia administration, intraoperative management, and postoperative care, following ASA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review preoperative anesthetic evaluations.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthetic plans.
• Notify supervising anesthesiologist of significant changes in patient status.
• Recognize and treat cardiac arrhythmias during anesthesia.
• Initiate emergency resuscitation measures when necessary.
• Order pre-anesthetic medications and perform monitoring procedures as per ASA guidelines.
• Support life functions during anesthesia, including induction, intubation, and fluid management.
• Document anesthetic records accurately and complete billing information.

Compensation

• Hourly rate of USD 89.15.
• Sign-on bonus offered.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Training and experience consistent with completion of an AANA or AA approved program.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work within the scope of practice per protocol and state statutes.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
• Experience in perioperative anesthesia management.
• Ability to recognize and respond to intraoperative emergencies.
• Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
