This is an employed hospitalist position at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio, involving coverage of a 217-bed facility with a closed ICU. The role includes daytime and nocturnist shifts, with shared responsibilities for patient admissions, rounding, and discharges. The position offers a full-time schedule with benefits, serving a community with diverse healthcare needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients in a closed ICU setting.
• Conduct patient admissions, rounds, and discharges in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Manage patient care independently during assigned shifts, including rounding on own patients.
• Participate in daily NPPA shifts (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) for patient coverage.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and discharge summaries for all patients seen.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and standards for patient safety and quality care.
• Share in on-call responsibilities as scheduled.

Compensation

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with 7 days on and 7 days off rotation.
• Includes daytime and nocturnist shifts, typically 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Current medical license in Ohio or eligible for licensure.
• FNP accepted; ACNP certification preferred for Nurse Practitioners.
• New graduates of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programs are welcome to apply.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and clinical skills.
• Experience in hospital or inpatient care preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work variable schedule shifts, including day and night coverage.
