Pulse-MD Urgent Care is seeking certified Nurse Practitioners (FNP) for full-time and part-time positions at our Wappingers Falls and Poughkeepsie locations in New York. The practice is physician-owned with direct involvement from partners, offering a collaborative work environment. The role involves providing urgent care services, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, and performing procedures in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
  • Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as CBCs, EKGs, and radiographs.
  • Perform procedures including suturing, splinting, immunizations, wound debridement, and cultures.
  • Counsel patients on medication regimens, side effects, and interactions with other substances.
  • Educate patients on self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to individual needs.
  • Refer patients to specialists when conditions exceed scope of practice or expertise.

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience.
  • Compensation model is salary (W-2).

Shift & Schedule

  • Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
  • Full-time position requires three 12-hour shifts per week.
  • Part-time position requires at least two 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Experience in urgent care, emergency room, primary care, or internal medicine.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret diagnostic information and develop treatment plans.
  • Competence in performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, and administering immunizations.
  • Knowledge of state legal regulations related to practice.
  • Willingness to work variable schedules, including 12-hour shifts.
  • Availability to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Preferred but not required: ER or Urgent Care experience and DOT certification.
  • Strong leadership skills and motivation to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and collaboration.
