We are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our hospitalist team at a 349-bed community hospital in Buffalo, NY. The provider will work in a collaborative environment with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers, covering day, swing, and night shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule. The role involves inpatient care with no procedures or codes, supported by hospitalists and intensivists as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care in a hospital setting, including admissions, cross coverage, and rapid response support.
• Work scheduled shifts during day, swing, and night hours according to a 7-on/7-off rotation.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and intensivists to ensure quality patient care.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for documentation and orders.
• Participate in hospital committees or quality initiatives as desired.
• Support hospital operations within the scope of inpatient practice, without performing procedures or codes.
• Maintain certification and licensure requirements for practice in New York.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members and hospital staff.

Compensation

• Salary of $160,000 annually for night APP position.
• Additional productivity incentives available.
• Compensation is structured as salary plus incentives, with income reported as 1099.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with shifts of approximately 12 hours.
• Shifts include day (7 am - 7 pm), swing (9 am - 9 pm), and night (7 pm - 7 am).
• 7 days on, 7 days off rotation.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Hospitalist experience or training is preferred; hospitalist training is required.
• Inpatient hospitalist experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work variable shifts including day, swing, and night hours.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system.
• Current NY state licensure or eligibility to practice in New York.
• Commitment to providing high-quality inpatient care.
• No procedural or code response responsibilities required.
• Willingness to work a 7-on/7-off schedule.
