Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) with experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to provide weekend coverage at their inpatient rehabilitation facility. The role involves managing post-acute medical conditions, performing weekend rounds, and collaborating with a team of physiatrists and APPs under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage immediate post-acute medical conditions in the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
• Conduct weekend rounding on recently admitted patients, including follow-up on diagnostic tests and medical issues affecting therapy participation.
• Identify and manage new acute medical conditions requiring intervention.
• Review and interpret test results, adjust medications, and manage fluids and electrolytes.
• Assess medical stability for continued participation in intensive therapy programs.
• Work under the direct supervision of a Physiatrist.
• Provide coverage for four 8-hour weekend shifts per month, on Saturdays or Sundays from 8AM to 4PM.

Compensation

• $70.00 per hour plus shift differential.
• Hourly compensation model with no contract or non-compete clauses.

• No state income tax in Florida.

Requirements

• Current NCCPA or ANCC certification and active Florida license at the time of hire.
• Board Certified Physician Assistant, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least 2 years (500+ inpatient encounters) of relevant acute care experience in the last 4 years.
• Board Certified Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner with at least 2 years (1,000+ inpatient encounters) of relevant acute care experience in the last 4 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience managing post-acute medical conditions in an inpatient setting.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and adjust medications accordingly.
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
