Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina, is seeking an employed Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with vein harvesting experience to join its expanding cardiovascular surgery team. The APP will collaborate with CV surgeons in outpatient and inpatient settings, performing various vascular and surgical procedures, including vein harvesting, chest tube management, central line placement, and assisting in complex cardiac surgeries.

Responsibilities

  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvest procedures.
  • Assist with operative cases such as CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic dissection, and aneurysm repair.
  • Manage chest tubes, central venous access, and arterial line placements.
  • Participate in ECMO cannulation and balloon pump removal.
  • Provide perioperative assistance and support during cardiovascular surgeries.
  • Collaborate with CV surgeons and APPs in outpatient clinic and hospital settings.
  • Contribute to the expansion of the CV surgery program's scope, including TAVR, ECMO, and trauma procedures.
  • Support patient care activities within the hospital and outpatient clinics.

Compensation

  • Value-based compensation model.

Requirements

  • Experience in endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvest.

  • Previous experience with operative assistance in cardiovascular procedures.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current licensure and certification as an APP (NP or PA).
  • Ability to work in a variable schedule environment.
  • Experience in outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care preferred.
  • Knowledge of TAVR, ECMO, trauma, and related procedures is a plus.
