Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide patient care in a specialized orthopedic setting. The role involves assessing and managing patients with musculoskeletal conditions, collaborating with physicians, and utilizing advanced technology in a supportive, physician-led environment. The position offers opportunities for professional growth within a state-of-the-art facility and a focus on clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status, including wellness, compliance with care plans, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Provide acute and chronic patient care, including taking histories, performing physical exams, monitoring therapies, administering injections and medications, and suturing wounds.
  • Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
  • Respond to emergencies, including the use of CPR.
  • Document patient information and care provided in medical records and maintain patient statistics.
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians in managing patients' medical needs.
  • Participate in hospital rounds and respond to after-hours and weekend patient calls.

Requirements

  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.

  • Skill in evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate interventions or referrals.
  • Ability to evaluate and revise care plans based on patient changes.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of practice.
  • Skill in developing health education programs and materials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
