Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a full-time Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide night shift inpatient care. The role involves managing both critical and non-critical pediatric inpatients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and working closely with pediatric intensivists and trauma surgeons. Responsibilities

• Provide night and weekend coverage for all admitted pediatric inpatients, including critical and non-critical cases.
• Manage an average of 2-5 patients per shift, with approximately 1.5 overnight admissions.
• Collaborate with physicians, pediatric intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive pediatric care.
• Participate in the care of acute, preventive, specialized, and primary pediatric services.
• Utilize 24/7 access to pediatric intensivists and trauma/critical care burn surgeons for backup support.
• Ensure documentation and communication of patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies.
• Maintain certification and stay current with pediatric acute care practices and protocols.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on pediatric patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner must have Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) certification from PNCB.
• Physician Assistants must hold a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and NCCPA Board Certification.
• Previous experience in pediatric acute care is preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts and variable schedules, including weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Current licensure and certification as required by state and professional standards.
