The Physician Assistant will provide clinical services within the scope of practice guidelines, collaborating with the medical care team to deliver accessible, patient-centered care at MedWise Urgent Care clinics. The role involves patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation, under the supervision of the Regional Medical Director, ensuring compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services in collaboration with the medical care team, including patient history intake, examinations, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and managing cases according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical records, case histories, and reports.
• Develop treatment plans and provide patient education and counseling.
• Address patient requests for accommodations to ensure accessible and inclusive care.
• Follow prescriptive protocols and state guidelines for prescribing and medication distribution.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and dignity.
• Participate in ongoing staff training, orientation, and development programs.
• Travel between clinics and work flexible hours to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and certified by the NCCPA.
• Licensed to practice in the state(s) of employment without restrictions.
• Current DEA license or certification.
• Valid state or government-issued identification.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or ambulatory care settings.
• Ability to work independently, with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Must meet continuing education, certification, and licensing requirements.
• Willingness to travel between clinics and work flexible hours.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and manual dexterity.
• Proficiency in computer use, with majority of work performed on a computer.
