The Nurse Practitioner is a key member of the healthcare team, providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. The role involves performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, administering treatments, developing patient management plans, and participating in team and community activities to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, performs physical examinations, obtains health histories, and arranges testing and follow-up.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests.
• Performs therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, documents progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Counsels patients on treatment compliance, health maintenance, family planning, and emotional well-being.
• Documents patient encounters accurately and promptly in medical records.
• Participates in rotational call schedules with other clinicians and team meetings to meet PCMH standards.
• Supports activities related to the Health Disparity Collaborative, including data entry, reporting, and database maintenance.

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation (W-2 tax status).

Shift & Schedule

• Call schedule required; participation in rotational call with other clinicians.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited APRN training program.
• Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Oklahoma.
• Eligible for medical malpractice insurance.
• Holds current CME credits and meets credentialing and privileging requirements.
• Possesses DEA and Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Control Certificates.
• Holds Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Physical and mental capacity to perform job duties.
