The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Cherry Health provides specialized mental health services, including assessments, medication management, treatment planning, and patient education. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, managing psychiatric care, and supporting patients with mental health disorders within a community health setting. The position is benefit-eligible and part-time, requiring a collaborative agreement with psychiatrists and adherence to clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including patient histories and documentation in electronic health records.
• Prescribe, review, and monitor psychiatric medications for assigned patients, ensuring appropriate treatment adjustments.
• Review and approve referrals, treatment plans, and case terminations in compliance with Medicaid and third-party payer requirements.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in treatment and discharge planning.
• Implement and document the collaborative agreement with psychiatrists, contributing to treatment strategies.
• Respond to client crises and emergencies by providing guidance and intervention.
• Assist in monitoring the physical and mental health of patients to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide health education materials to patients, families, and staff to support informed decision-making.

Compensation

• Salary model with W-2 tax status.

Requirements

• Licensed and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred (2-5 years).
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and medication management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage psychiatric crises and provide emergency interventions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
