Physician Assistant-Urology

The Physician Assistant will provide high-quality family practice and urology services in a hospital-affiliated outpatient setting. The role involves clinical duties, compliance with regulatory standards, participation in quality improvement activities, and maintaining professional licensure and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide family practice and urology services within the practice setting using hospital facilities and support services.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills through continuing medical education and independent study.
• Participate in hospital and departmental quality improvement activities and adhere to relevant regulations and policies.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including EMTALA, documentation, coding, and reimbursement standards.
• Maintain professionalism in behavior, attire, and relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Report to the designated supervisor regarding business and financial aspects of employment.
• Accept third-party reimbursements, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance, and provide charity care as appropriate.
• Perform clinical duties requiring physical activity such as lifting, pushing, and manual dexterity, with visual and auditory acuity.

Compensation

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Physician Assistant Program.
• Current Maine medical license and federal DEA registration.
• Member in good standing of the hospital medical staff.
• Valid Maine medical license and federal narcotics license.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds and pushing 100 pounds with assistive devices.
• Visual acuity correctable to 20/20 and normal hearing acuity.
• Knowledge of and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EMTALA.
• Participation in quality improvement and compliance programs.
• Effective communication skills and professionalism in a clinical setting.
• Adherence to hospital policies, including confidentiality and safety protocols.
