This part-time contractual position involves providing clinical care on weekends, including patient examinations, medical history assessments, therapeutic procedures, and developing treatment plans. The role requires independent judgment within scope of practice, medication prescribing (where permitted), and patient education. The provider will collaborate with supervising physicians as needed and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, take medical histories, record results, and make preliminary diagnoses or determine follow-up procedures.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians for treatment decisions.
• Develop and implement patient care plans, provide counseling, and document patient progress.
• Prescribe medications within state and clinic regulations where permitted.
• Provide health education on topics such as diet, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program with two years of clinical training, or a Master's/Doctorate in Nursing (NP or DNP) with appropriate licensure.
• Current licensure in Michigan (PA license or APRN license) and certification (PANCE for PAs, AANP or ANCC for NPs).
• Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approval by The Salvation Army MVR.
• Completion of Safe From Harm training and ongoing certification as required.
• Proficiency with medical records systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to exercise clinical judgment and provide leadership in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in patient education and health promotion.
• Compliance with continuing medical education requirements (100 hours every 2-5 years).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a weekend schedule.
