Carle Health is seeking Neonatal Physician Assistants to join the Level III NICU team at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The role involves providing advanced neonatal care in a 48-bed NICU, including high-risk deliveries and specialized procedures. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar punctures, PICC line placement, umbilical catheterization, and chest tube insertion.
• Provide comprehensive neonatal care within a 48-bed NICU and a 14-bed step-down unit.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and transport teams.
• Participate in a schedule consisting of 10-24 hour shifts, depending on experience and staffing needs.
• Contribute to patient management during admissions, transfers, and ongoing care.
• Support neonatal transport teams via air and ground as needed.
• Maintain compliance with licensure, certification, and hospital protocols.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities.

Compensation

• Hourly rate ranging from $64.03 to $83.23, based on experience.
• Additional compensation options include sign-on bonus, relocation support, loan repayment, referral incentives, and CME allowance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Completion of a NICU PA fellowship or previous NICU experience.
• Current Illinois physician assistant licensure.
• Ability to perform advanced neonatal procedures.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, and holidays.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience in high-acuity neonatal environments preferred.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating schedule.
