We are seeking a compassionate Physician Assistant to provide urgent care services in Youngsville. The role involves assessing patient health, delivering acute and chronic care, assisting in surgeries, and participating in hospital rounds, with responsibilities extending to patient education and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status, including wellness, care plan compliance, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provide acute and chronic patient care, including taking histories, performing physicals, monitoring therapies, administering medications, giving injections, and suturing wounds.
• Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
• Responds to emergencies, including performing CPR when necessary.
• Documents patient information and care provided in medical records and maintains patient statistics.
• Educates patients and families as appropriate and ensures continuity of care.
• Assists physicians with surgeries in the operating room.
• Participates in hospital rounds and responds to after-hours and weekend patient calls.

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation (W-2 tax status).

Requirements

• Current Louisiana RN license, DEA registration, and Board Certification.
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and Surgical First Assist Certification (if required).
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
• At least two years of Nurse Practitioner experience, with orthopedic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols, medication administration, and physical care following treatment plans.
• Skill in evaluating patient problems accurately in person or via phone and providing appropriate interventions or referrals.
• Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of dependent medical practice.
• Ability to develop health education programs and materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare team members.
• Proficiency in assessing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data.
