Atrium Health is seeking Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to join our Gastroenterology and Hepatology team in Mooresville, North Carolina. This hybrid outpatient and inpatient role involves managing adult patients with no night call requirements, providing consults, and participating in inpatient care at Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Manage outpatient clinic with a volume of approximately 14 patients per day at the Langtree office.
• Perform inpatient consults and rounds at Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital, with inpatient volume varying between 5-8 patients per day.
• Provide inpatient care and hold one inpatient holiday per year at an Atrium Health hospital facility.
• Allocate time for administrative duties, approximately half a day per week.
• Collaborate with a team of 2 physicians and 2 APPs in a gastroenterology practice.
• Participate in outpatient procedures, including PEG tube insertions and exchanges (preferred).
• Work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with no night or weekend call required.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program; Master's degree preferred.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is required.
• At least 2 years of Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Experience with PEG tube insertions and exchanges is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Current licensure or eligibility to practice in North Carolina.
• Comfort with outpatient procedures and inpatient consults.
• Ability to manage a diverse adult patient population.
