The Prairie Recovery Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health support for patients in detox and residential treatment settings. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and may be conducted in person in Round Top, TX, or via telehealth. The position offers flexible scheduling with both part-time and full-time options, and compensation is based on experience through hourly contracts or salary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients in detox and residential settings.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop integrated care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and provide ongoing psychiatric support.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and case management staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Document all services in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Provide crisis intervention support as needed.
• Utilize telehealth platforms and electronic medical records for patient care and documentation.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly contract or salaried compensation based on experience.
• Compensation is provided through a W-2 tax structure.

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in Texas.
• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatry or mental health.
• Experience working with patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
• Experience in detox and/or residential treatment settings preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a flexible schedule with variable days.
• Experience prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for documentation and patient care.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
