Molokai General Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide full-scope midwifery care in a rural, community-focused setting. The role involves independent practice attending births, managing prenatal to postpartum care, and serving a culturally diverse population on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and well-woman services.
• Attend births independently in the hospital setting without on-site obstetric backup.
• Collaborate with nursing and rural health teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Support and serve a culturally diverse patient population with compassion and respect.
• Manage fetal monitoring interpretation and fetal surveillance, completing required certifications within specified timeframes.
• Maintain current certification and licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Registered Nurse in Hawaii.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical and safety standards, including neonatal resuscitation and fetal monitoring.
• Participate in community engagement and contribute to the hospital’s mission of culturally sensitive care.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and eligibility for Hawaii state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent full-scope midwifery clinical experience.
• Hawaii RN and APRN licensure with prescriptive authority.
• Certification in BLS/HCP and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Completion of fetal monitoring interpretation and management training, with ongoing competency assessments.
• Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting attending births without on-site OB backup.
• Strong skills in labor and delivery, prenatal, postpartum, and well-woman care.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving underserved communities with culturally sensitive care.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Molokai and adapt to a rural, community-oriented environment.
