Lawrence General Hospital is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers (PA/NP) or physicians to join its Accelerated Care Unit (ACU) within the Emergency Center. The role involves managing lower-acuity emergency department patients in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with predictable 8-hour shifts, no overnight duties, and opportunities for full-time or part-time work. The provider will perform assessments, procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform targeted patient histories, physical examinations, and procedures for ACU patients.
• Develop and implement disposition plans based on clinical assessments.
• Utilize point-of-care ultrasound, onsite imaging, and evidence-based protocols to expedite patient care.
• Collaborate with ED triage, nursing staff, and specialty consultants to meet length-of-stay benchmarks.
• Ensure high-quality patient experience and promote patient satisfaction.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, diversity, and clinical excellence.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and utilize CME resources for professional development.
• Manage lower-acuity emergency department patients (ESI 3-5) in a dedicated eight-bed unit.

Compensation

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts medical license or eligibility (MD/DO or PA/NP).
• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with ED focus (MD/DO).
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency or urgent care experience (PA/NP).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound and familiarity with onsite imaging modalities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts with variable scheduling, no overnight duties.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Experience working in a high-volume emergency department setting preferred.
