This exempt position involves providing primary care services, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education. The provider collaborates with physicians and other clinicians within a team-based approach, potentially specializing in areas such as family practice, pediatrics, or geriatrics. The role requires maintaining clinical documentation, ordering diagnostic tests, and participating in quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health history and presenting illness through interviews, chart reviews, and physical examinations.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests and screenings, consulting with physicians and clinicians as needed.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and handling minor procedures such as laceration repairs.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion, illness prevention, medication use, and treatment plans.
• Document clinical findings, test results, diagnoses, and treatments accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in peer reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development, and quality assurance activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, respecting patient rights and confidentiality.
• Adhere to professional, ethical, and organizational standards, including HIPAA regulations and dress code.

Requirements

• Current state registered nurse license.
• Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• Current CPR certification.

• Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• At least two years of nurse practitioner experience.
• Demonstrated communication skills and ability to handle patient confidentiality.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, scheduling, billing software, and basic office technology.
