The Physician Assistant will perform medical evaluations, physical examinations, and review of medical histories for military service applicants to determine eligibility based on Department of Defense standards. The role involves interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing common conditions, providing treatment and health education, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive medical processing in a military environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health evaluations and assessments of individuals undergoing military processing.
• Perform physical examinations, take medical histories, and evaluate applicants' physical and mental health status.
• Assess eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense medical standards.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to determine fitness for military service.
• Diagnose common medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and manage health issues in accordance with military protocols.
• Provide health education on nutrition, lifestyle, and preventive care topics.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure documentation complies with military regulations.

Compensation

• Compensation is based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity; final salary will be determined accordingly.

Requirements

• Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Physician Assistant within the last two years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by ARC-PA.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Physician collaborator must endorse the application for clinical privileges; an alternate physician must be appointed in writing.
• Must have a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, twist, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity and minimal hearing loss required.
• Ability to work in compliance with military and healthcare regulations, including security requirements.
