The Orthopedic Physician Assistant will collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal conditions. The role involves performing physical assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting in surgeries, and providing patient education. This full-time position primarily serves the St. Croix Falls location, with occasional coverage at other clinics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and patient assessments
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and MRIs
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications
• Assist in orthopedic surgeries, including pre-operative and post-operative care
• Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
• Certification by the NCCPA
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross for Providers)
• Experience in orthopedics preferred
• Knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures and post-operative care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
