Physician Assistant - Urgent Care

Mercy Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its Urgent Care team in the Richmond market. The role involves providing urgent care services in a fast-paced environment, with flexible PRN scheduling. The provider will work with a support team including front desk staff and medical assistants, utilizing EPIC EMR, and will have opportunities for professional growth and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care services to patients in a clinic setting, including virtual consultations, workman's compensation, and pre-employment physicals.
• Work independently within the scope of practice, managing patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with support staff including front desk personnel and medical assistants to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system.
• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
• Adhere to clinical protocols and standards of care.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate care.
• Work approximately 2 shifts per month, with hours from 8 AM to 8 PM, including every other weekend.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM.
• PRN position with approximately 2 shifts per month.
• Work every other weekend.

Requirements

• Active Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Urgent Care or Emergency Room experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient population.
• Excellent communication and clinical skills.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends.
