The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide full-scope maternity and gynecology care at the Norwalk, CT location, collaborating with Stamford Health and Oula to deliver patient-centered, high-quality perinatal services. The role involves managing all phases of pregnancy, supporting interdisciplinary care, and contributing to clinical protocol development within a collaborative model.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery maternity (labor, birth, postpartum) and gynecology care at the Norwalk clinic and Stamford Hospital.
• Oversee patient care throughout pregnancy, including working with the interdisciplinary team to determine eligibility, ensuring communication aligns with care plans, conducting consultations, and transferring care to physicians as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients during and between appointments to address questions and concerns.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols to facilitate midwife-OBGYN collaboration and high-quality care delivery.
• Support resident training on the midwifery model of care, low intervention practices, and collaborative care guidelines.
• Participate in overnight rotational call, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and hospital policies.
• Support the ongoing development of the clinical care model in partnership with Stamford Health and Oula.

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Overnight rotational call required, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Active LM (Licensed Midwife) licensure in Connecticut.
• Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) as a Certified Nurse-Midwife.
• Minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience in hospital labor and delivery and low acuity maternity and GYN care.
• Experience working within a collaborative care model.
• Excellent communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to work rotating overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based maternity care.
• Ability to support clinical protocol development and resident training.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures related to maternity and gynecology care.
