Aya Locums is seeking a locum Nurse Practitioner for a hospitalist role at an acute care hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio. The position involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, developing treatment plans, ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The assignment is scheduled to start on January 1, 2026, for 13 weeks, with night shift coverage and no call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions.
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform procedures permitted by state regulations and NP specialty.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.

Compensation

• $85/hour to $95/hour

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics).
• Active and unencumbered APRN license in Ohio.
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty (e.g., AANP).
• At least one year of clinical experience in a relevant setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and medical knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to the specialty.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare team.
