This is a temporary ophthalmology surgical position available immediately, with an initial 3-month contract and potential for extension. The role involves performing eye surgeries, primarily cataracts, in a supervised setting using EPIC electronic medical records. The provider will work weekdays during daytime hours without on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform ophthalmic surgeries, primarily cataracts, in a hospital OR setting.
- Work in a supervised environment with a 1:3 provider-to-supervisor ratio.
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management.
- Collaborate with surgical team members during procedures.
- Work at the main hospital OR as needed.
- Maintain adherence to credentialing and hospital policies.
- Manage pre- and post-operative patient care within scope.
- Follow scheduled shifts Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
Compensation
- Payment model: Other (1099 tax status).
Shift & Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts.
- No call or weekend work.
- Start date ASAP with ongoing assignment.
Requirements
- Ophthalmology surgical experience, especially with cataracts.
- Ability to work in a supervised setting with a 1:3 ratio.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
- Availability to start ASAP and commit to a 3-month contract.
- Credentialing readiness within approximately 90 days.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Licensed or eligible to practice ophthalmology in the state.
- Ability to work weekdays during daytime hours.
- No on-call or weekend responsibilities required.
- Comfort working in a hospital surgical environment.
