The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide comprehensive obstetric, gynecologic, and primary care services to patients across the childbearing cycle and throughout the lifespan, including health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness education. The role involves supervising and teaching students and residents, performing gynecologic and obstetric procedures, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE) with rotating day and night shifts at Denver Health.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor patients' health conditions in collaboration with the healthcare team, referring to specialists as needed.
  • Conduct health assessments through medical record review, history-taking, and physical examinations.
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests to inform patient care.
  • Admit and discharge patients from inpatient care settings.
  • Perform gynecologic and obstetric procedures within scope, including contraceptive provision and limited OB ultrasound.
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances and contraceptives.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients to support informed decision-making and promote autonomy.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range of USD 128,600 to USD 143,700, based on full-time equivalent (FTE).

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from a nationally accredited midwifery program.
  • 1-3 years of inpatient and outpatient midwifery care experience.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
  • Active licenses and certifications including NRP, BLS, DEA registration, and state regulatory approval for CNM practice.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic and treatment techniques relevant to midwifery.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to supervise and teach students and residents in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records, preferably EPIC.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
