Meritus Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the Wound Care Center in Hagerstown, MD. The role involves independently and collaboratively providing wound management and patient care, utilizing advanced treatment modalities, and coordinating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal clinical, financial, and patient satisfaction outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with various wound types, including acute traumatic wounds, chronic wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and post-operative wounds.
  • Utilize advanced wound care treatments such as total contact casting, wound vacs, PICO vacs, and cellular tissue products.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical principles and maintain patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Advocate for patients' needs and provide education on wound care and prevention.
  • Maintain current licensure, certifications, and stay updated on wound care practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Compensation

  • $124,000 to $145,000 annual salary
  • Value-based compensation model
  • Additional income opportunities include CME allowance, differential pay, and loan repayment
  • Tax status: W-2

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Maryland Physician Assistant license in good standing.
  • Current DEA registration and CDS permit.
  • BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience; wound care experience preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical competence, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
