The Physician Assistant Program at Barry University’s Main Campus in Miami Shores is seeking an adjunct instructor for the Physical Diagnosis Lab. The role involves teaching students proper history-taking and physical examination skills, supervising clinical skills exams, and assisting with student assessments and program admissions. This in-person position requires collaboration with faculty and clinical staff to support student development in physical diagnosis competencies.

Responsibilities

• Teach small group labs on history and physical examination skills under the direction of the course director.
• Supervise students performing history and physical exams during practice labs and provide constructive feedback.
• Proctor clinical skills exams, observe student performance, and record grades in Canvas.
• Assess clinical students during rotations.
• Conduct site visits to students on clinical rotations under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator.
• Assist with student assessment activities, including exam proctoring and grading.
• Support the admissions process by reviewing applicant files and participating in interviews under the guidance of the Program Director or Admissions Chair.
• Study and follow the objectives and lesson plans provided for each lab session.

Compensation

• Compensation model is categorized as 'Other' with W-2 tax status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant, PA-C, MD, or DO.
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
• At least one year of teaching experience.
• Ability to instruct, critique, and evaluate students' physical exam skills using logical reasoning.
• Ability to interpret and operate equipment used in the physical diagnosis lab.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, including email correspondence.
• Ability to accept and manage assigned projects within the physical diagnosis lab.
