The Physician Assistant supports the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station by reviewing medical histories, conducting evaluations, and assessing applicants' medical fitness according to military standards. The role involves performing physical examinations, reviewing medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with privacy and security policies. The position is contingent upon future business opportunities and involves working primarily during standard weekday hours with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical examinations of military applicants.
• Assess applicant eligibility based on Department of Defense medical standards.
• Review medical test results and documentation related to applicant health histories.
• Secure and record comprehensive health histories from applicants.
• Evaluate medical documentation and provide opinions on medical fitness for military programs.
• Apply accession medical standards to determine applicant suitability for service.
• Participate in local medical peer reviews and adhere to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Access and update electronic medical records, respond to communications, and use internet resources as needed.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to pass background investigations, including Tier 4 and Public Trust checks.
• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted PA license in the state of employment.

• Minimum of one year of post-graduate clinical experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, including hands-on skills.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical best practices.
