The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Johnson Health Center provides comprehensive pediatric primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health education for patients from birth to 18 years. The role involves clinical duties, patient relations, team collaboration, and administrative responsibilities within a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain complete medical histories and explain treatment plans to patients and families.
  • Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and diagnose acute and chronic illnesses based on clinical findings and reports.
  • Develop, initiate, and monitor patient management plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Provide routine preventive physical examinations for children from birth to age 18.
  • Render emergency care including CPR, starting IV fluids, and administering emergency medications; suture lacerations and address acute orthopedic injuries within scope.
  • Refer patients requiring hospitalization or specialized assessment to appropriate providers.
  • Participate in pediatric on-call rotation and work in the immediate care clinic on Saturdays.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, review provider notes, and ensure timely chart closure in accordance with policies.

Compensation

  • Salary paid via W-2 model.

Requirements

  • Current professional licenses and up-to-date continuing education for license renewal.
