The Maniilaq Health Center in Kotzebue, Alaska, is seeking a part-time Certified Nurse Midwife to provide women's health care, including family planning, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum services. The role involves collaboration with OB colleagues, participation in program development, and serving Native Alaskan women in a tribal-owned facility within a culturally rich environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive women's health care, including family planning, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum services.
• Participate in program planning, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with OB colleagues at the Alaska Native Medical Center for consultation and referrals.
• Educate patients on health and wellness topics related to women's health.
• Work within a midwife-led practice setting with a team of full-time and part-time midwives.
• Serve Native Alaskan women in Kotzebue and surrounding villages.
• Contribute to culturally sensitive care within a tribal-owned and operated facility.
• Engage in continuous professional development and community outreach.

Compensation

• Salary (amount to be determined).
• W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule days, including potential evenings or weekends depending on patient needs.
• Part-time position with flexible hours.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification.
• Experience in women's health, prenatal, and postpartum care preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external medical partners.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Experience working in or with Native Alaskan communities is a plus.
• Flexibility to work variable days and hours.
• Commitment to providing culturally sensitive care.
• Current licensure and certification as a CNM.
• Ability to participate in program development and quality improvement activities.
