A locum NP/PA position in Cardiothoracic Surgery is available at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, MI. The role involves inpatient coverage working collaboratively with surgeons and other APPs, with potential for approximately one surgery per day. The assignment runs from October 13 to November 7, 2025, with shifts primarily from 7 am to 5 pm and in-house call from 5 pm to 7 am.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including rounding with surgeons.
• Perform vein harvesting and assist with arterial bypass and bypass surgeries.
• Collaborate with other APPs and surgical team members.
• Work approximately one surgery per day, as needed.
• Participate in scheduled shifts from 7 am to 5 pm, with in-house call from 5 pm to 7 am.
• Cover the assigned dates from October 13 to November 7, 2025.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation.
• Maintain a clean background and comply with all credentialing requirements.

Compensation

• $150 per hour, including malpractice coverage.
• Orientation pay at half the hourly rate.
• Hourly holiday pay, night call, and callback pay.
• 24-hour holiday call back at 1.5x rate.
• Holiday callback at 1.5x rate.
• CME allowance included.

Requirements

• Michigan license (required at time of name clear, no exceptions).
• Board Certified in relevant specialty.
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including ICU experience and vein harvesting.
• Covid-19 vaccination and booster (if applicable).
• Verbal DEA confirmation.
• Clean background check.
• Proof of compliance with employee health requirements (e.g., TB test, vaccines).
• Noted vein harvesting experience in credentials.
• Ability to work variable days and shifts, including overnight call.
• Must submit rates at time of name clear; malpractice coverage included in rate.
