The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive women's health care services related to pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, family planning, and gynecological needs. Working under the supervision of a physician, the CNM manages patient care in both clinic and hospital settings within an Ob/Gyn practice, demonstrating autonomous clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing appropriate treatment plans for women’s health needs.
• Communicates effectively with patients to explain care plans and establish trusting relationships.
• Manages routine and complex clinic patients, including hospital admissions for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and gynecological care, with minimal supervision.
• Documents care accurately, signs off on labs, and communicates with patients post-care to ensure continuity of care.
• Identifies when patient needs require escalation to a physician, especially in urgent or emergent situations.

Requirements

• Graduate of a professional nursing program.
• Minimum of two years of labor and delivery (L&D) experience.
• Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
