The CCBHC Medical Director is a licensed psychiatrist, Physician Associate with a psychiatry specialty, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner responsible for overseeing medical and psychiatric services within a Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Responsibilities

  • Manage medication therapy, monitor treatment effectiveness and side effects, and adjust as needed.
  • Manage acute psychiatric crises, including risk assessments and coordination of emergency interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including social workers, therapists, and case managers, to develop cohesive care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including psychiatric providers, nurses, interns, and students, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record system and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Compensation is dependent on experience and education.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with active Oregon medical license and board certification in Psychiatry or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent qualifications for Physician Associates or PMHNPs.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory or managerial experience overseeing medical providers.
  • Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, MS Office, and virtual communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR, and state regulations.
