The Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) will join the surgical services team at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. The role involves managing a variety of surgical patients, including trauma, orthopedics, vascular, and acute care surgery, through evaluation, treatment, and intraoperative assistance. The APP collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care throughout hospital stays.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up, and consultations for trauma and acute care surgical patients.
• Assist in the operating room with open and minimally invasive procedures, including first assisting with RNFA credentials.
• Deliver direct patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop competency in procedures such as central line placement/removal, chest tube insertion/removal, and arterial line management.
• Coordinate patient care throughout hospital stays, ensuring appropriate management and follow-up.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in hospital protocols and quality improvement initiatives related to surgical care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and procedures.

Requirements
