The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner to provide care in the Perinatal Evaluation Center. This role involves triage and emergency assessment of pregnant and postpartum patients, with shifts scheduled on a day and night basis, including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities

  • Provide triage and emergency assessment for pregnant and postpartum patients in the Perinatal Evaluation Center.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to develop individualized care plans.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, Neonatologists, Midwives, and Residents.
  • Participate in patient care activities during scheduled day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Follow hospital protocols and standards for obstetric emergency care.
  • Report to the Perinatal Nurse Manager and collaborate with the overseeing OB/GYN attending or laborist.
  • Maintain clinical skills through hospital continuing education programs as required.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2.5 years of relevant clinical experience; CNMs must be reviewed and approved by the Credentials Committee and Medical Board.
  • Experience with resident training and education is a plus.
  • Commitment to diversity and population health principles.
