Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking pediatric anesthetists to provide anesthesia and perioperative care for surgical patients across multiple hospital settings. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams to ensure safe, effective anesthesia delivery during pre-, intra-, and post-operative periods. The position offers flexible scheduling options within a leading pediatric healthcare system recognized for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the anesthesiologist in gathering pre-operative data, inducing, maintaining, and discontinuing anesthesia, and preparing necessary drugs and equipment.
  • Manage pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care, including ventilator support, vascular access, blood transfusions, and monitoring vital signs and laboratory values.
  • Perform emergency procedures such as initial CPR and instruct staff in anesthesia, respiratory care, and CPR as directed by a physician.
  • Monitor and record anesthesia parameters and patient responses throughout the perioperative period.
  • Conduct post-operative evaluations to assess recovery quality, document complications, and report findings for quality improvement.
  • Administer anesthesia and related care in pediatric surgical patients during all perioperative phases.
  • Support the surgical team in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance and documentation activities related to anesthesia care.

Compensation

  • Salary-based compensation with potential for sign-on bonus and relocation support.
  • Compensation offered as W-2 employment.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Medical Science or Nursing with a concentration in Anesthesia; Doctorate of Nursing Practice preferred for CRNAs.
  • Certification from NCCAA or NBCRNA as a Nurse Anesthetist, or current licensure as a Physician's Assistant - Anesthetist or Registered Nurse in Georgia.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff, demonstrating good listening and writing skills.
  • No minimum experience required.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia record documentation and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to perform emergency procedures and manage complex perioperative care.
  • Licensure and certification must be maintained throughout employment.
