Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Physician Assistant with surgical experience to join a busy practice. The role involves assisting in surgeries, managing patient care in the office, hospital rounding, and supporting orthopaedic subspecialties. The position offers opportunities for growth, including staffing urgent care hours, with a flexible call schedule and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in orthopaedic surgeries as a first assist
• Perform history and physical examinations and assist in patient care in the office
• Conduct ultrasound-guided injections, casting, and splinting
• Manage postoperative care and follow-up visits
• Handle patient messages and documentation in EMR
• Assist with hospital rounds and orthopaedic consults
• Support orthopaedic urgent care services (optional, paid separately)
• Participate in call coverage, including weekends and holidays

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation with differential pay for additional income
• W-2 tax status
• Paid weekend and holiday call, including rounds and assisting with cases
• Opportunity to staff orthopaedic urgent care hours (paid separately)

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with call responsibilities
• Call is currently 1 in 16, including weekends and holidays
• Weekday evening call is minimal, mainly answering patient messages
• Travel to multiple office and hospital locations required

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of Physician Assistant experience
• Surgical experience in orthopaedics required
• Prior orthopaedic experience strongly preferred
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate with good bedside manner
• Proficiency in EMR systems
• Ability to travel to multiple office and hospital locations
• Passion for patient care and attention to detail
