The Anesthesia Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Anesthesia Assistant, practices under the supervision of anesthesiologists to deliver anesthesia services across various clinical settings. The role involves caring for patients of all acuity levels during surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, ensuring safe and effective anesthesia care.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care under the medical direction of anesthesiologists in diverse clinical settings.
• Operate and interpret data from anesthesia and perioperative equipment to support patient safety.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and other disciplines through effective verbal and written communication.
• Assess patient data and provide care appropriate to the patient’s age and developmental stage.
• Support infection prevention and control practices.
• Maintain confidential patient records.
• Facilitate timely delivery of anesthesia and perioperative care to ensure efficient operating room function.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Nursing with RN licensure in Georgia and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, or a master's degree in Anesthesia.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital, clinical quality, or performance improvement setting.
• Georgia licensure as a CRNA or Anesthesiologist Assistant.
• Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
• BLS certification.
• Ability to perform clinically as part of an anesthesia care team.
• Proficiency in operating anesthesia and perioperative equipment.
• Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care and support growth and development considerations.
