The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at James Cancer Hospital. The APP will collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver patient care focused on acute and chronic illness management, health promotion, and preventive services within a supervisory or care agreement framework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare services to patients during acute and chronic phases of illness.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on health management and prevention.
  • Perform authorized medical services in accordance with licensure and credentialing standards.
  • Refer patients to other healthcare providers and community resources as appropriate.
  • Manage patient care within the scope of practice defined by supervising physicians.

  • Work in a rotating shift schedule with variable hours.

  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent for Nurse Practitioners; PA-C certification for Physician Assistants.
  • 0 years of relevant experience required; 0-2 years preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Eligibility to practice independently within the scope of licensure and credentialing.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and variable hours.
  • Compliance with background check and drug screening requirements.
