The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician under supervision, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and counseling patients. The PA will prescribe medications in accordance with Ohio state regulations and may oversee students or volunteer PAs. The role follows policies established by the Care Alliance Quality Assurance Committee and other governing bodies.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of medical histories.
• Diagnose conditions by ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as imaging, ECGs, and lab studies.
• Develop and implement treatment plans within the scope of practice and accepted standards of care.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound management.
• Educate and counsel patients on medical conditions, treatment options, wellness, and preventive services.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Consult with supervising physicians as necessary and in accordance with the Physician Supervision Agreement.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.

• Compensation model is categorized as 'Other' with W-2 tax status.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Ohio certificate to prescribe and Ohio certificate to practice.
• Active physician supervision agreement approved by the Ohio State Medical Board.
• Completion of 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years, including at least 12 hours related to pharmacology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated clinical competence in physical assessment, health education, and counseling.
• Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably EPIC, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to operate medical equipment with manual dexterity.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and exert up to 20 pounds of force as needed.
