Centra Medical Group in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with hematology/oncology experience to join our inpatient Hematology Oncology Hospitalist team. The role involves managing inpatient consultations, follow-up rounds, symptom control, treatment side effects, and oncologic emergencies in collaboration with hematologists and oncologists. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with a focus on providing compassionate, comprehensive care to cancer patients in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consultations for new admissions and perform follow-up patient rounds.
• Manage acute and chronic symptoms, treatment side effects, and oncologic emergencies.
• Evaluate laboratory results and adjust supportive care plans accordingly.
• Coordinate discharge planning with hospitalists and the care team.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and other healthcare providers.
• Ensure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with hematologists and oncologists to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with cancer.

Compensation

• $120,000 - $140,000 annually
• Sign-on bonus, relocation support, loan repayment, and CME allowance included
• Salary is paid via W-2 employment

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Experience in hematology and oncology care is required.
